Frequently Asked Questions
Which version should I use?
Local if you're building personal projects, developing MCP servers for Claude Desktop, or need everything self-hosted. Cloud if you're deploying to serverless platforms (Vercel, Lambda, Cloudflare), building production apps, or want managed infrastructure with no setup.
What is "Collective Intelligence"?
When Cloud users browse sites, we learn which APIs return clean data, which selectors extract content reliably, and which sites need full browser rendering. These learnings are shared across all Cloud users — so the more people use Unbrowser, the faster it gets for everyone.
Can I use Local for commercial projects?
Local is licensed under BSL-1.1, which allows personal use and internal business use. If you're building a product that competes with Unbrowser or selling a product that embeds it, you'll need Cloud (or contact us for an enterprise license).
How does Cloud pricing work?
You get 1,000 free requests per month. After that, it's $0.002 per request (about $2 per 1,000 requests). Higher volume? Contact us for custom pricing.
